The Olympics Closing Ceremonies

I stayed up and watched the closing ceremonies of last night's Olympic games in Vancouver. Perhaps my standards are far too exacting, but inflatable moose (and inflatable undetermined rodents), women in abbreviated Canadian Mountie garb, group sing alongs to "Oh, Canada!" and errant fireworks left me cold. We've been previously exposed to such surprising visuals in broad performance art. I am amazed that so little of this was utilized during this ceremony. Beijing had this down cold.

That said, Vancouver is a very lovely place to visit.
