My very first film star crush was (and still is) Gene Kelly. When I first saw "An American in Paris," I was enthralled. This athletic dancer was incredibly graceful but still solidly masculine. I saw the rest of his films but like most, my favorite remained the classic "Singing in the Rain." I've seen the above sequence more times than I can count and I enjoy it every single time. He captures what dancing should be: joy, unparalleled joy.

I tried to find a YouTube clip but couldn't find one with sound. One of my old crushes, Kurt Browning, does a lovely tribute to this on ice. Loved it!
