"Do you live here?" he asked.
I acknowledged that not only was I a resident of the building but a resident of the 4th floor. "Oh," he exclaimed, "we are providing stipends to residents of the floor we're shooting on to compensate them for the inconvenience." Really? Money for nothing? Tell me more. He asked for my name and number indicating that we'd be required to submit a W9 to Columbia Pictures to validate we'd been paid for the inconvenience. No problem. Send me the paperwork with the check, dude.
We continued to chat for a few more minutes about trivial stuff and then I took my leave.
Walking through the lobby, I noted the profusion of equipment and materials residing throughout the space. The back entrance door was propped open and official types with over sized badges were blocking off a large portion of 156th Street while large trucks unloaded even more materials. This could be an interesting change in my usually dull week.
When I got home tonight, there was another memo under the door from the location crew. It notified us that in addition to the disturbance of the filming next week, they advised (quote) "we will be using pyrotechnic effects in the building. Please do not be alarmed as there will be several loud noises throughout our filming days."
A bomb going off down the hall? Such bother--it happens every week.
Tonight Fang sent me the added news that Angelina's co-star in the film would be my one time crush and all around delicious male specimen, Liev Schrieber. For a glimpse of such gorgeousity, I will definitely have to take a day off to stalk.
Lord Have Mercy.
