It's beautiful to look at; less fun to schlep in, at least in the city. The pristine quality of the snow in Manhattan is eroded minutes after it falls. A few hours on the ground, it's stained with automotive exhaust, dog pee, trash and the footprints of hundreds of pedestrians.
It's still pretty--in its own urban way.
