Outside of mining the bountiful archives of You Tube, I haven't proved the most worthy blogging this past weekend. Alas, the reliable old Dell, my stalwart vessel to the world of the Internet apparently has not the bandwidth or the online street cred to download music from the King of the Digital World, Apple. Fang is intrepid in problem solving and spent no less than four hours on the phone with a Dell Computer customer service rep from a call center somewhere in India yesterday. At the end of the call, the issue was not yet resolved and the same rep called back today at 6:30 am. The tangled digital web is started to resolve itself through a slow unraveling, yet it has utterly limited access to my beloved keyboard. It's like drug withdrawal in a way.
The problem should be resolved tomorrow. So, dear reader, I suggest you indulge in the following tonight: Locate your local PBS station, set your Tivo in case you fall asleep and tune in at 8 pm for the first night of Ken Burns' documentary on World War II. The man is a brilliant story teller and if his works on baseball, New York, jazz or the Civil War are a barometer, you will be gifted with a historically rich, inspiring experience.
Fare thee well.
