When I walked out of the gym tonight, I felt a strange sensation. A peppering of wintry white flakes flew at me and adhered to my face, speckling the black fur of my coat collar, my eyelashes and hair. I threw my head back and glory be, realized it was snowing. Real snow, not the flirtation of a brief flurry or the menacing hand of an upset sky that ultimately passes with the wind's whim. No, this was the real deal. The Man in White. The Snowmeister.

Despite the vague predictions of the television meteorologist, the Nor'easter we'd been waiting all season for finally decided to blow in. The first dabbling of the pristine powder is a pleasure to pad through; velvety steps that marks the travelers progress. This is when it's marvelous. Alas, the subsequent ice predicted for tomorrow morning will undermine this current feeling of elation, but for now, I have my black fur Muklucks at the ready. I've been waiting all season.

Happy happy. Joy joy.
