A Day With Purpose

There's a lot to do today. I am on the verge of going on vacation and I am starting the day as a woman with purpose.

I got up at 8:00 am. I made coffee. I cleaned the kitchen and took out the recycling and trash. I booted my laptop and pulled out my work spreadsheets. I had some final schedules to compile to submit to my boss. I collated the detail, updated the Excel files, wrote narrative and supplied back up files and sent them off. I replied to emails that I had batched all day yesterday. I activated my work e-mail out of office message. That felt good.

I cleaned the bathrooms. I showered and dressed. I dropped the dry cleaning off. I caught the 1 train downtown. I bought a Venti bold at Starbuck's and got my hair blown out at Jeffrey Stein at 86th & Broadway. I went up to Columbus & 84th and had a manicure, pedicure and bikini wax (and hello, you can have thousands of these--they still hurt). I went to CVS and bought sunscreen. I caught the 1 train uptown.

I picked up last week's dry cleaning. I dusted and vacuumed and waxed the floors. I changed the sheets. I confirmed the mail and NY Times paper delivery was on hold. I fetched out the passports. I re-checked work email and responded to some messages. I went down to my building storage unit and plucked three sundresses, three pairs of shorts, a sarong and two pairs of sandals for my trip. And yes, I flirted with Juan The Doorman.

I only need to pack. And damn, that will be cake.

Hey, we have the same Starbucks order! (Though I have to specify 'no room', since I drink it black.)
