I have been trying to wean myself off bad reality television in the past year. There are some habits that I can't give up in the genre: "Project Runway," "Top Chef" and "America's Next Top Model" for example. One show that I have desperately tried to give up (and can't) is Bravo's "Real Housewives" series. Regardless of the location, the assembled housewives are unbelievable. They are all helaciously vain, confrontational, ill mannered, self righteous and self important. I can't stop watching, as much as I dislike them (and myself, for getting sucked in).This season, the series is back in Orange County and they've introduced a new housewife named Alexis. She's the ultimate Stepford wife/faux Christian. She scares the bejesus out of me because she's so entirely fake and/or brainwashed. Her husband, a personality bordering on controlling wife beater, is repugnant. I like to think the finale of the season will result in Alexis breaking down and setting the house on fire with her sexist husband duct taped to the bed.

I LOVE THIS SHOW. I, too, am addicted.
If Alexis says one more time about how hard it is for her to stay home and how she needs a break. She has TWO nannies. GAH. I like your expression, "faux" Christian. I can't take the husband. He totally freaks me out.
