Who Doesn't Love Chicken?

As I exited the subway at 157th Street today, I was alarmed to see a rat devouring a voluptuous piece of fried chicken that had been discarded on the steps. Most of the passengers exiting the subway veered dramatically away from this urban mise en scene. Me? I moved in for the close up.

This city lives up to its reputation.

Ah the rodent! I spent weeks with my butt up in the air, balanced on hands and knees painstakingly planting a bulb garden. When the bulbs didn't come up--I cussed Home Depot and their obviously inferior quality. And then, one day I saw this little bastard, that had been viewed as adorable the week before, dig up and scurry away with one of my bulbs! I had to take my Home Depot rant back.
I'll let the rat have his chicken if the damn squirrel will leave my flower beds alone!
