Oasis in Chaos

It was a madhouse of a day at work today. I have vowed not to write about work here in this forum and I won't now; but suffice to say, it was a very stressful day.

In the midst of this chaos, the Queen Bee swept into the office. This former uber Type-A gal is a new mother and her former frenetic personality has now dissolved into ooey-gooey mother love personified. It's actually a wonderful thing to behold. She's just resigned from the company in order to be a full time mother and I approve. It's a luxury these days for any mom to do so--she herself acknowledges her good fortune.

Today when the Queen Bee swept in, she stood outside my glass walled office and made goofy faces at me. She then held aloft the baby carrier containing her infant. Seeing him, I had to melt. Who wouldn't? It definitely lent some levity to the whole day.
