Postscript

I promise I won't keep complaining about the cold, but this really happened tonight.

I took a cell phone call as I walked out of my garage so I didn't put my gloves on. By the time I got to my building and the call ended, I had trouble separating my blackberry from my hand. It was, for lack of a better word, stuck. And I couldn't bend my fingers for at least 15 minutes after I went inside.

I suppose there are worse ways to go than hypothermia but I'd really rather not test that theory.

My nostrils froze together this morning when I was walking from the car to my office. About 10 yards, tops! That's freaking cold.

When we bought the Jetta, the model we bought had heated seats, but didn't have the heated steering wheel. It did have the side mirror defrosters. My thought was--who really NEEDS this stuff. Um, it was 0 outside when I left for school. I was happy I didn't have to scrape the ice from the mirrors, and my butt was ESTATIC about the heated seats. My hands now understand why the heated steering wheel might be a desirable option.
