If you've been watching "Project Runway" this season, you may have enjoyed the antics of one of the designers, the self styled rocker gal Stella. Stella, the self-professed queen of rivets and leather ("lea-thuh") started to grow on me, despite her singular fashion vibe. Alas, tonight she participated in a design challenge for the impossibly chic Diane von Furstenberg. Stella's design concoction was a horrific melange of leather, tweed and haphazard tailoring. Let me just add, there was a cape involved. And the final stroke of fate: Michael Kors snarkily commented on the outrageousness of the garment's crotch. Girl just didn't have a chance.Despite her one note design style (and in fairness, her aesthetic is completely contrary to my taste), I enjoyed Stella's New Yorky monotone delivery and I-Don't-Give-A-Shit attitude. I couldn't see her in the final three under the tents at Bryant Park but I will certainly miss her on the show.

I definitely wasn't sad to see her go -- she annoyed me right from day one. I'm not sure if it was the grating whiny voice, or the attitude... but, geez. She must've been a lot nicer than she seemed, since the other contestants acted as if they were going to miss her. (Oh, and I generally hated her clothes. Considering how little I know about fashion, that's a poor third for reasons.)
I actually kind of think she was robbed. I hated Suede's ugly, unbecoming dress with the completely ridiculously unrelated vest, and Joe's construction was a nightmare. He committed the same sin as Keith did the week before. And yeah, Stella's outfit was not very DVF, but usually they give credit for trying something different like a cape. I'll miss just hearing her say "leatha."
How can you not love anyone with a boyfriend named Ratbones??
STELLAAAA......
