Road Warrior

I've been in Baltimore since Tuesday. Whilst there, I was staying in a brand spanking new hotel near the airport, one that was tailor made for business travelers. It offered basic amenities and a continental breakfast yet it had nary a location in its total square footage that offered any wireless capabilities. I was blog-stranded. If I didn't have a blackberry I would have been utterly e-mail incapacitated. That would have rendered me mad beyond reason. I have become communication dependent, sadly.

This afternoon, I collected The Fisherman and The Art Director and trundled them into the comfy confines of Angus. We drove through Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York and finally Connecticut. I deposited them safely at their vehicles at the Connecticut offices, checked my e-mail, collected some files and then embarked on Angus for the return drive to Manhattan. After 500 miles of driving since Tuesday and an evening of Duck Pin Bowling, a few drinks, copious hours of meetings and many, many laughs, I finally arrived at my apartment tonight at 8 pm.

It's damned nice to get home.

How strange your hotel didn't offer a wireless connection. And you said it was NEW and tailored towards BUSINESS travelers. Somebody dropped the ball on that one.

Welcome home!

Hey C&W guess who your new neighbor is?

Taylor Hicks has a suite setup in a celebrity-loving condominium building. The American Idol winner, now a Broadway star, is the latest boldface name to take a pied-à-terre in the Atelier building - just a short sashay to the Brooks Atkinson Theatre where he co-stars in "Grease."

Maybe you could invite him over
for a glass of good wine. :D

Call me when you come to MD next time. I'm only 30 min away from B'more. If you have any free time at all I'll come up and buy you a drink! :0)
