This has been a week of bad commuting karma. I have spent countless hours toiling in the fast lane of a four lane highway moving at a top speed of 5 mph. What is it about the summer that means more lousy drivers on the road? I can't sort this out.It may be snowing in the winter yet the traffic continues to flow. Come the dog days of summer, accidents quadruple and road workers seem keenly intent to lay tar on two lanes of road at, you know, 8 am. It's horrendous.
This past work week, I arrived home every night between 8:30 and 11:30 pm (granted, that latter hour involved a dinner that ended at 9 pm). I have become intimately acquainted with The Bronx. Today--a Saturday--I I left my house at 8 am to go grocery shopping in Westchester. The traffic was backed up the entire way. Where are these motherfuckers going?! On the way back into Manhattan, it was even worse. Why?
My life is becoming painfully uninteresting, slowly ticking away as I sit in traffic. On the plus side--at least I know all the words to the latest hip hop songs.

You'd think there was a gas crisis or something, huh?
Right?! What are these people doing on the road?
