Where Did This Week Go?

I feel like I've stepped into a black hole this week. We arrived back in New York very late on Monday night (or Tuesday morning, depending how you look at it)from our 72 hour whirlwind in San Francisco. I was off to work for a jam packed day in Connecticut on Tuesday, dragging my sorry ass in that night just after 8 pm. Before I know it, the alarm is blaring at the 4-something hour Wednesday morning. I caught a subway downtown to catch a 7 am train to Baltimore where I was scheduled to work the next two days with a sister division's senior manager. I arrived at their office at 10 am and we immediately set to work. We had a lot to cover so we didn't leave the office until 7:45 pm. From there we went to a charming eatery on the Baltimore waterfront where we enjoyed a nice glass of Chianti and a few plates of tapas while we pored over budget templates until 10 pm. My colleague then dropped me off at the hotel where I responded to e-mail till midnight. I was off early to meet the senior manager for another round of meetings (after first pounding the sidewalk of a few city blocks in the area for a Starbuck's for 20 minutes). We worked steadily till 3 pm. From there, we drove to Philadelphia where we met one of our senior editors and a physician for dinner in a restaurant in the city center. I finally had to excuse myself from the heady dialogue at 8:03 to get to the Philadelphia train station to catch an 8:35 train back to New York City. At 10pm, I was back in Manhattan standing in an endless taxi line. Due to some ruckus on the West Side Highway, I sat slumped in the back seat of a taxi for 45 minutes. I finally stumbled through the door of my apartment a few minutes ago. For the past few days, I have felt guilty for not blogging. Well, now you know why.

Glamorous, my ass.

You actually work for your money. That's impressive! I will never complain about my job again. ;-)
