The obvious choice for my Halloween costume came to me today in a clear moment at lunchtime: Carmen Miranda. Not only would it give me an excuse to wear a riot of wild parrot-like colors, outrageous yards of ruffles, dangerously high platform shoes and pounds of cheap jewelry, but it would also grant me the opportunity to create a teetering hat piled high with faux fruit, secured to my head with a bandanna. Every girl dreams of a moment like that.I can't wait.
