Blissed Out

I am in a state of consummate bliss.I have nothing funny or angry or thoughtful to fling at y'all right now for I have spent this day foraging produce markets, bicycling bucolic lanes shaded by large sheltering trees and laying on warm sand alongside the Peconic Bay. Fang is preparing a massive meal on the grill. Basia's boyfriend David is slicing limes in preparation for margaritas. The only sound (besides the rustling of tree leaves in the summer breeze) is the U.S Open tennis match on television which Bert watches with steely concentration.I did overhear this one exchange between Bert and Basia seconds ago:

Bert: Oh, Federer is killing this guy.
Basia: What guy?
Bert: Oh, he's cooked.
Basia: Who?
Bert: (long pause) Eisner. Federer's opponent
Basia: Where's he from?
Bert: (yelling) Fang! Are you making salad? Don't make salad too!! There are too many vegetables already! Oh, it's over for Eisner. He's lost the fourth set.

And so it goes. I hope your day is equally serene.
