The Last Friday

Well, Hollaback Girl closed escrow on her spanking new apartment in Inwood (that's the tip of Manhattan, as they say here, people) and she's leaving our little home here on Monday to move into her own place. I feel a little sad about it, I must admit. I've grown accustomed to her company and liked it. We had our last Take Out Friday Dinner tonight. It was Chinese food (in her honor) and the house staple beverage of New Zealand sauvignon blanc was served up. It will be strange not to have her here. She's been the easiest of company. Not because she unloaded the dishwasher or because she cooked wonderful meals. She's just a deeply valued friend and well, The Bunny (on Hollaback's lap below) has gotten quite used to her.
At least she will remain my commuting buddy as we schlep daily to Darien. And Project Runway starts in the Fall. We have to have gimlets and dish over that drama while sprawled on her cool new couch. It's been a fun stretch as roommates and well, I'll miss my old pal.
As Mamela said when Hollaback closed on escrow, "Mazeltov!"
Indeed. And then some.

When you have your next Chinese
food dinner if it includes Sweet
and Sour try a Viognier or a Gerwztraminer.
