One of the things I love best about the country are produce stands. Not only is the quality usually superior but the price is always cheaper than the city. We loaded up on a plethora of produce before venturing back to the city today. It must be the Fresnan in my blood for I love to wander the stalls of the local farm stands and admire the unvarnished and wild beauty of piles of produce. It's practically porn. Since you couldn't be there with me, I decided to bring a little home for you (visually, anyway). Take a big bite.Sunday, August 26, 2007

What a glorious bounty! I just love those little tomatoes, the yellow ones taste like nature's candy. MMMMMMMM, Good.
Mmmmmmmmmmm.........blackberries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey C&W no farmers markets in New York?
I'm lucky enough to live in the original wine country which is the country and fresh produce is bountiful.
Those blackberries look like heaven.
See those purple beans in the last picture, over to the right? I grew some of those this year! They are great. Very sweet, and they turn green when you cook them.
Morewines: There are some nice farmer's markets in the city but they are expensive. You are lucky living in wine country; that is heaven up there. And you have "Mustards Grill"--one of the best restaurants ever.
And thanks Jen--I was wondering about those purple string beans. I thought they were fascinating!
