Two Second Observation

We have our hands pretty full right now; a list of 212 things and a few hands to accomplish them. We worked straight through the day until late night yesterday to attempt to make a dent in things, but there's still a rather mighty agenda that needs to be completed before 53 people arrive tonight for the rehearsal dinner. Yes, you read that right. 53 people for a rehearsal dinner. I learned that this is a Southern tradition; family and out of towners come for the rehearsal dinner and well, that's half the people attending the wedding.

There's much more to be written about this weekend but since I need to go and slap bows on something somewhere, I'll keep this brief. I noted a few observations yesterday:

-Southern women really like their crafts. They're every accomplished with them, but they must be the region of the population that keeps Micheal's in business.
-As a general rule of thumb, I'd reckon it's not a good idea to completely remodel a kitchen a few weeks before a wedding. Just saying.
-No one gives a rat's ass about the handwork detail some relation wants to sew on the hem of the table runners, especially not now. There is medication for OCD, I hear.
-Who knew Walmart is open 24 hours a day? And that there are two of them in such close proximity?
-If you're going to drive all the way from Texas to get here early to help work, maybe you should actually lift a finger when you do get here.
-The cockroaches fly here.
-"Steel Magnolias" is the "Taxi Driver" of the South.
-Four years olds don't need much sleep.
-A case of Bud Lite costs $5.49 at Costco.
-This is the bride's day. I think everyone who has descended on this house has forgotten it. I have decided to get all Shetangy on everyone's ass today who is forgetting that. I'm from New York, so they're expecting it.

You go girl, teach those southerners a thing or two. I'm sure everything turned out beautiful, so please don't skimp on details.
BTW, you can buy beer and wine in a grocery store (down South) just about anytime day or night.
