Figaro

After months of defying the veterinary odds, my sweet boy lost his battle with renal failure today. I had to take him for his last visit to Dr. Plotnik and we had to put him to sleep. It was peaceful and I held his head as he passed on. Hollaback Girl came with me to keep me upright for I am a bit of a wreck. I was very grateful for her support.

He was a good fellow and a boon companion for 18 years. He was born in San Francisco and adopted with his sister from the SPCA when they were six weeks old. He moved across country with us three times (how many cats can say that?) and he never caused a moment's worry or fuss. He enjoyed good health and a full belly his whole life and for the affection he gave me, I felt truly fortunate. I already miss him terribly.

Nothing compares to the love of a pet. I'm sorry.

Oh honey I'm so sorry. 18 years is a good long life, and not only was he a good pal to you, you were a good mom to him. I know he's sad to have to leave, but he's also happy as a clam, in kittie heaven with lots of catnip and mousies.

Claudine sends her condolences.

I am so sorry, C&W! It's tough to lose a member of the family, even furry ones!

C&W, please accept my condolences on the passing of your beautiful cat. Losing a pet is heartbreaking, to say the least, and it will take time to recuperate from the loss. Know that my thoughts are with you.

The coming events,MCFOG's wedding, should help get you through this melancholic time.
