Since our first night here, we've taken it pretty slow and are saving up our energy for tomorrow. Yes, we have to work a good part of the day tomorrow, but we also have a cooking class at the New Orleans School of Cooking in the morning and our big night out dancing at Tipatina's tomorrow night. I have been waiting for this night like a child waits for Christmas. I love to go out dancing. I rarely get out to do so when I'm home, so it takes zero persuation to talk me into doing so do so when the occasion presents itself.

Tipatina's is located in one of those old houses in the garden district of New Orleans. The first time I saw it, years ago, I thought it was a frat house. The trappings are modest and cozy and the music seeps from every nook and cranny in the joint. Everyone just sort of grooves. It's my kind of place. If you feel inspired or something just sort of moves you, it's absolutely natural that you should rise to your feet, shake your money maker and go just go with it. I don't need a partner. I just go out there and start moving. Yes, in my old age, I will be the crazy old broad in the pink boa, doing a shuffle with herself in the middle of the dance floor and all the young people will coo with assorted variations of "Ain't that sweet?" It has nothing to do with sweet--it's just a way of acting out what you're feeling. And it's pure bliss. I can't wait.

Pictures to come on Sunday.
