
Bread pudding to me is a close second to the heaven that is red velvet cake.. in my world anyway. I don't go for those new fangled versions of this recipe: whether the souffle or the gelate or cheesecake. Bread pudding is good when it's in its most basic format: simple white trash, good eating food. Add nuts, raisins, cinnamon and a solid hard sauce with butter..? We're golden.
This was heaven. Stale french bread, egg yolks, sugar, cream...all the accoutrements that come together. I daresay I nearly embarrassed myself finishing this. I licked the remnants of my bowl like a dog in heat. I begged to finish other people's leftovers. I'm so making this for Thanksgiving. What will the Polish folks think of this?
