Another Thanksgiving of thrice baked turkey, a trio of boiled root vegetables, the omnipresent sweet potatoes and marshmallows, fruit cocktail, cranberry sauce and stuffing. The bread pudding went over well--after polishing off half of it, everyone wanted some to take home. The pumpkin pie wasn't even touched. Perhaps they were all just humoring me or maybe it was the copious amounts of bourbon soaked raisins in it.

The company was, as always, delightfully lively and the house was heated to its usual toasty 90 degrees. We all dressed in layers today and ended up peeling a few off by the end of the day. Here are the celebrated Queens Aunts (above). L to R: Aunt Bert, age 86; Aunt Fran, age 88; Aunt Stella, age 92. And they all have more energy than I do. God bless them. They are remarkable women.

I do hope your day was equally wonderful.
