For all of us, we have a list of things we wish we could do. These are realistic and unrealistic items that linger in the back of our minds for all our lives and whether we act on them or not is purely a matter of prerogative. If it's really vital to our realization of our beings, we'll do it, but like most of these wish items, they linger in your consciousness, only to be conjured up when the odd suggestion prompts it. I have my working top 20 list, which naturally you will be subjected to. I felt I needed to document this list, if only to prompt myself to one day pursue the accomplishment of even one of these items. Here is my list.
I wish I could:
1. Speak French fluently.
2. Play bridge.
3. Tap dance.
4. Learn to like the taste of avocado.
5. Recite "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" completely from memory.
6. Find the perfect white tailored shirt.
7. Take a whole summer off and drive cross country in a convertible.
8. Write a book.
9. Do a backflip.
10. Play the zither or harmonica or saw.
11. Sew something other than a gym bag.
12. Dance the Viennese waltz in Vienna on New Years Eve.
13. Get up at 4 am and run two miles everyday.
14. Save someone's life.
15. Paint a portrait like John Singer Sargent.
16. Do a cool magic trick.
17. Find a bra that fits.
18. Get a Master's Degree in something ridiculous and useless and fun.
19. Mix the perfect gin martini.
20. Stop worrying about the crap that really doesn't matter.
So, what's on your list?
